TERMS AND Conditions of Booking
THE CONTRACT
- The
contract entered into is between Yetland Farm Cottages (the owner) and
the person making the booking (the hirer).
- The
contract is not effective until a deposit of 33.3%of the total booking
fee has been received or if the booking is made less than 4 weeks before
arrival date then 100%of the booking fee must be received to secure the
booking.
BOOKING
- Bookings cannot be accepted by
anyone under 18 years of age nor by a party of people where the majority
of members are under 18 except for families.
- The number of people occupying a
property must not exceed the maximum stated in the current property
description on our website.
- The person
making the booking (the hirer) will be responsible for all people
staying and should ensure that they are all aware of the booking
conditions.
- The owner
reserves the right to decline any booking or to refuse to hand over a
key to anyone who has not complied with the booking conditions.
RESERVATIONS
AND PAYMENT
- All
bookings are considered provisional until either a 33.3% deposit (if
more than 4 weeks prior to arrival) or the full payment (if within 4
weeks of the arrival date) is received.
- Payment may
be made by PayPal, Debit card, Credit card or cheque.
- If the
Hirer wishes to pay by cheque the owner must be notified over the
telephone or by email first. The owner will hold the booking for 5 days
to allow the cheque to arrive - if it does not arrive then the booking
will be released automatically.
- If the
hirer wishes to pay by debit or credit card then the hirer must
telephone with their details - Amex and Diners cards are NOT accepted.
- When a
booking is made more than 4 weeks in advance, if the balance has not
been received by the date specified by the owner, 4 weeks and 1 day in
advance of arrival, the owner reserves the right to cancel the booking
and retain the deposit.
CANCELLATION OR BOOKING ALTERATION by the hirer
- Once the booking is
confirmed, the hirer is responsible for the total cost of the holiday.
- In the event of a cancellation
by the hirer the owner will endeavour to re-let the property and if
successful may refund any monies paid less a £50 administration fee.
- The owner
strongly recommends the hirer takes out appropriate holiday insurance.
- Any change
in holiday dates requested by the hirer will be subject to the agreement
of the owner
CANCELLATION by the Owner
- If for
reasons beyond its control the owner has to cancel or alter arrangements
made for the hirer, the owner will make every effort to offer an
alternative property if one is available.
- If
the hirer does not accept the alternative offered the owner will return
any monies paid to the hirer and the owners liability will cease.
DAMAGE, LOSS AND NUISANCE
- The
supervision of babies, children, dogs and any adults requiring care
remains the responsibility of the hirer at all times
- The hirer
is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in a
clean condition otherwise an additional cleaning charge will be made.
- Any breakages
should be reported as soon as possible and we reserve the right to
charge for any non-trivial damage.
- The hirer
is not to cause nuisance or annoyance to occupants of other properties.
- The owner
has the right to enter the property at any time if necessary.
- If the
owner considers anyone is causing a nuisance or not treating either the
farm, the accommodation property, other guests, farm or wild animals
with respect, the hirer will be asked to vacate the property
immediately. The hirer will remain liable for the whole cost of hire and
no refund shall be due.
- If the
games rooms have been used by the hirer then these must be left tidy
OCCUPANCY
- Arrival
time is 4pm onwards
- Departure
time is 10am and the holiday accommodation MUST be vacated by that time.
PETS
- Well behaved pets are most welcome by arrangement
at a charge of £15 per pet per week.
- Dogs MUST NOT be taken in with the farm animals, left alone in the cottages,
cause a nuisance to other guests or allowed to foul the courtyard or common areas.
The hirer must clean up after their dog at all times
- Dogs MUST be kept on a lead in the cottage courtyard, car parking area and in the children's playfield. There is a designated field available for off lead
walking.
- If you would like your pet to
sit on the furniture please bring a blanket/throw to cover it.
LIABILITY
- The use of accommodation and amenities including the farm and play areas is entirely at the Hirer's risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, loss or damage to the Hirer or the Hirer's companions or guests.
- The owner
cannot accept responsibility for any material loss, damage, additional
expense or inconvenience directly or indirectly caused by or arising out
of the property (plumbing, electrical services or exceptional weather)
- No
responsibility is accepted for loss or damage of hirers property
(including pets), vehicles or vehicle contents belonging to the hirer or
any member of their party during their occupancy.
COMPLAINTS
- If in the
opinion of the hirer there are grounds for complaint, it is the duty of
the hirer to take it up with the owner immediately or as soon as is
reasonably possible and in any event before departure to allow remedial
action to be taken.
- The owner
is within their rights to refuse to entertain any complaint,
irrespective of its merits, if the hirer has not bought it to the owners
attention whilst they are in residence at Yetland Farm Cottages.
- The hirer
agrees that the contract with the owner is made at the owners premises
and that any proceedings following shall be conducted in the County
Court nearest to the owner.
